Early Bird Gets the Run

Yesterday was a fun-filled day, where sun and burn flowed together harmoniously all over every exposed part of my body. It was a day of lawn games and sparklers, slip and slides and campfire. Overall, a really great day! The day lasted until 11:30 pm when I finally fell asleep.

4:30am came too soon. I could hear Tony taking the dogs out for their morning walk (why 4:30am? Because the dogs pretty much OWN T!) I tried to sleep for another hour, but by 5:10 I was up and getting ready for my morning run. Folks, when you have little kids and a husband who is either out the door to go to work by 7:30 am, or in today's case, GOLFING; you have to get out the door early if you want to get any miles in. I needed 9 today.

I got my nine miles. I had the nagging pain behind my left knee again at the beginning of the run. It worked itself out within the first half mile, though. I'm not sure if I should be worried about it, or if I should just pay really close attention to the next couple of weeks of running, and see if it still bothers me and THEN do something about it...

Okay, so my run was nice. All that talk about bears and the bear in Siren that mauled the pregnant lady outside her home really scared me. I almost thought about not running...but I can't let those things rule my life. So, I ran at a pretty nice clip. I averaged 8:24 per mile for 9 miles. Not bad. 1 hour and 15 minutes for my run today. I'll take it. Tomorrow is an easy three miles. I keep saying I'll do yoga, and I don't. When I have time, I will.

29 miles for the week.

Thought for the day: You can fix anything with a roll of duct tape and some time. This probably does not apply to injuries...
