I ran my 7 mile progression run this morning. Just like my last progression run, I started out at a nice easy pace (1 mile warm-up). Then I hit the next 5 miles harder, and cooled down 1 mile.
I didn't go out with great expectations this morning. After all, this isn't a race; but I wanted to see where I was at, and if I could go a little harder than my last progression run two weeks ago. It was a great workout, and I'm glad I got out early in the morning like I did...HOWEVER...I can't stop sneezing. I took some Emergen-C (thanks T), and drank some gatorade when I got home. Hopefully I'll feel back to normal in a little while. My legs feel great, and everything else is fine. It wouldn't be normal to be 100% fine after a run like this, would it!?
Here are my mile splits for todays progression run!
mile 1- 8:23
mile 2- 7:35
mile 3- 7:26
mile 4- 7:10
mile 5- 7:06
mile 6- 6:53
mile 7- 8:23
Not too shabby for my second progression run! I must be doing something right! The crazy thing is; I didn't check my splits, so I didn't actually KNOW I was running each mile faster (but hoped I was). That's all for now. Tomorrow is my 5 mile run. I may try to run it at 7:30/7:45 pace (since I have Friday off, and an easy 3 on Sat.) We'll see how the legs feel tomorrow!
Thought for the day: Favre out...
