Sunday Lake Loop

After little sleep, and a sodium packed dinner last night, I thought I'd just barely make it through my 11 mile run this morning! One thing I've realized since getting back into running, is that there will always be something that could drag you down, make you run slower, or encourage you to take the shortcut/easy way out. Unless I'm hurting bad on a run, I'm learning to just keep going...and it's working so far!

The lake loop took me three times around and halfway down 200th and back home for a total of 11+ miles. I stopped the watch at 11, and trotted home the rest of the way (attempting to shake out the legs and chest pain...can you shake out chest pain!?)

I did something cool too, on my run...I didn't check my times until 4 miles, 7 miles, and 10 miles. I was proud! I really wanted to see what pace I was at, but who's kidding who...I can't do that math in my head even when I'm resting (much less running). I ended the run at 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 26 seconds. That's 8:19/ mile. Not too shabby for a nice easy Sunday morning run. Let's face it, it wasn't THAT easy. I did push myself past the point of conversation pace, but I definately could have gone faster; so this was a good run!

Total for the week: 30 miles
Next week is my 37 mile week! AND my first track workout on Wednesday!!

Thought for the day: Heather: "Member....?" Tony: "Yes, I'm a member..." Heather: "Ugh" (for all of you who are going, "Huh?"...I used to say remember but forgot the 're' and Tony teased me about it ALL the time)
